The New Age of Internet Marketing
In this day and age, more than 85% of American adults are online, and 31% of them are online almost constantly. While traditional marketing mainly focused on print media, television, and radio, the rise of the internet has changed the way consumers find and interact with brands. The new age of digital marketing uses websites, social media, search engines, and apps to engage audiences in a two-way dialogue and generate more leads for businesses. It has also revolutionized how consumers find information.
Pay-per-click advertising allows marketing teams to purchase traffic. They pay to display advertisements on websites and search engines in return for website clicks. Pay-per-click ads often appear at the top or side of search results. They are set to be paid according to the bids marketers place on specific keywords. While websites usually have a standard price for banner ads, pay-per-click advertising requires a payment for each ad click. The process is similar to affiliate marketing, but instead of distributing your products or services directly to consumers, you are sharing the profits of those products or services.
Another way to reach customers is through email. Email marketing is still an effective digital marketing technique. Retail brands and e-commerce sites are seeing success with seasonal promotions. Incorporate SEO search terms into your website’s content and share it on social media. You can even use content marketing as an email publication. Content that keeps customers on your website longer will likely be more profitable. In addition to email newsletters, social media posts and podcasts are also effective marketing tools.
